She says she is called "Budou Kiba," for her taste of alcohol. She approaches Mugen and Jin and asks them to have a drink with her. Fuu gets very jealous, and Mugen drags Jin off to join her for sake. They mock Fuu's arrogance as they leave. Nagamichi arrives via palanquin to face off with his opponent. His foe wears a phony pair of glasses, because he wants to put an end to Nagamichi. The man knocks Nagamichi's weapon high into the air. It ends up landing on his head and knocking him out. Nagamichi is quick to brag that this was all part of his technique, and the crowd is amazed. He sees Fuu in the crowd and asks her out. At the sake bar, Mugen shares wine with "Bodou Kiba". He says he left Aki by ship to reach Edo, and fight the Shogun. But, recently he heard of an undefeated samurai, Mariya Enshirou. He would defeat him and earn his reputation. He entered the Mujuu Shinken Dojo. However, Mariya was killed by his best disciple. The disciple wore rare glasses and was named Jin! Fuu is shocked and leaves for the night. She returns to her inn and contemplates what she has just heard about Jin. Morning comes and she finds Mugen and Jin passes out in front of the inn. They were robbed, and Fuu needs them to earn some money. She makes them street perform by showing off their fighting skills. They blindfold themselves and attempt to cut two pears from Fuu's head.
