If Heitarou wins, he gets his son back, and gives up the Kawara's territory. If he losses, Sousuke will atone for his crime. Heitarou proposes to provide the dealer, while the Nagatomi will provide the dice. Rikiei intends is to lose the game, in order to gain their territory legitimately. He schemes to arrange that their dealer never arrives. Jin returns to the restaurant owner and pays him for the food. However, he is greeted by Heitarou, they take a walk. Heitarou explains that the clash between yakuza is pointless. In the past, families have been lost, but villains still took care of one another. Life changed when Ishimatsu left the Kawara Clan. If Jin killed Rikiei, this would bring about more retaliation. Heitarou asks Jin to give a note to his son. He doesn't plan on coming back. Fuu shows up and the Kawaras decide to use her. At the last second, Fuu enters the gambling parlor. She puts on her game face and both sides realize the game is now upto chance. Fuu throws the dice and the Nagatomi clan wins. Heitarou confesses that he had no intention to give up their territory and will unhold his part of the deal. A life for a life. With honor, he unsheathes his own tanto and drives it into gut. Rikiei laughs at the folly for he gets nothing from this. He now intends to take their territory through force. He grabs Sousuke and tells Jin to stand back. Just then, Mugen makes a grande entrance. Upset that no one was sent after him, Mugen charges Rikiei and the boy.
